A team of senior drug development and delivery experts from Catalent Pharma Solutions (Booth 1612), will lead multiple thought-leadership discussions, present scientific papers, and exhibit at the forthcoming 2013 American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Annual Meeting and Exposition, which runs from November 10th to 14th at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, San Antonio, TX. Catalent is the global leader in drug development solutions and advanced delivery technologies for pharmaceutical, biologic and consumer health products.

On Sunday November 10th, Carolyn Finkle, Catalent’s VP Global Regulatory Affairs, will present “Current Global Regulatory Requirements with a Focus on China.”
In a second session, on Tuesday the 12th, Ronald Vladyka, Research & Development Director, Advanced Delivery Technologies, will host “Scale-up or Transfer of a Lead Formulation on Hot-melt Extrusion Equipment.”

In addition to the presentations and workshop, Catalent will also present twenty-one scientific papers at the AAPS meeting on a broad spectrum of topics including particle size reduction in lipid-based systems, the development of pellet-encased tablets, novel taste-masking and on the evaluation of OSDrC® OptiDose™ to form acetaminophen/phenylephrine combination tablets. At the start of the annual meeting, the AAPS and Catalent Applied Drug Delivery Institute will launch the “3rd Annual Global Academic Competition for Life Science Leaders of Tomorrow”.

From Monday, November 11, 2013, the competition submission site (www.drugdeliveryinstitute.com/global-academic-competition) will open to global university students enrolled in graduate programs focused on the pharmaceutical sciences, industrial pharmacy, drug delivery, drug development or related disciplines. Participating students will compete for one of five chances to win $2,000, a complimentary, one-year membership to AAPS and the opportunity to have their submissions published by Catalent in the Institute and/or industry publications. The competition will remain open until June 13, 2014.
